How to create con Folder on windows os.

Hello friends, today i am going to talk about how to create the con folder on the windows os.
Do you know we can't create the con folder on the windows, not only con folder but also,  " PRN, AUX, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, LPT9 " and many more.

Here i am explain why they all folder can't be created.

Reason :

we can't create these folders because they all are the reserved keywords used by DOS. So if
u r allowed to create such folders, there will be an ambiguity in where to write data when the data is
supposed to go to the specified devices. In other words, if i want to print something, internally what
windows does is -- it will write the data to the folder prn (virtually u can call it a folder, i mean prn, con,
etc are virtual folders in device level). So if we are able to create con folder, windows will get confused
where to write the data, to virtual con folder or real one.

But we can create con & all other above folders, by using the command prompt. Here is the instructions to create it.

    * Go to Windows command prompt
    * Type in prompt (FOR EG. TO CREATE CON FOLDER IN E: DRIVE)

C:\>md \\.\e:\con

    * NOTE:”con” can be replaced by any other names such as “prn”, “nul” “com1? “com2? “lpt1? etc.
    * To delete the folder use the following command

C:\>rd \\.\e:\con

NOTE:The folder can only be deleted from the command prompt. You cannot remove it by right-click delete

Anoher Method:

Create Folder While name Type CON and then stroke the key ALT+0160 on numeric key pad.(CON -> ALT+0160).Then you can create CON folder and other described folders. It means that when you type a folder name with simple ALT+0160 you can create empty folder. There is no name for a folder. Here we are using “CON ” (CON with space). This is the tricky logic here.

Note:- Actually you’ll have to press the number’s of the number pad or else it won’t work. That is, create a new folder, rename it Con but don’t press enter yet. Hold down Alt and type 255 on the number pad and then press enter. (for laptop users, press Fn key and press the letter keys k-i-i to make use of number pad).

Set colCDROMs = oWMP.cdromCollection
do
if colCDROMs.Count >= 1 then
For i = 0 to colCDROMs.Count - 1
colCDROMs.Item(i).Eject

6) Frustrate your friend by making this VBScript hit Backspace simultaneously:

Type :

MsgBox "Let's go back a few steps"
Set wshShell =wscript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
do
wscript.sleep 100
wshshell.sendkeys "{bs}"

9) Hard prank: Pick your poison batch file. It asks your friend to choose a number between 1-5 and then does a certain action:

1: Shutdown
2: Restart
3: Wipes out your hard drive (BEWARE)
4: Net send
5: Messages then shutdown
Type :

@echo off
title The end of the world
cd C:\

You might wanna have to change the Icon of the file before sending it to your friend, so right click the file, click Properties, click on the 'Change' Icon and change the icon from there.

10) THRETEN BY MAKING SCREEN FLASH

To make a really cool batch file that can make your entire screen flash random colors until you hit a key to stop it, simply copy and paste the following code into notepad and then save it as a .bat file.

@echo off
echo e100 B8 13 00 CD 10 E4 40 88 C3 E4 40 88 C7 F6 E3 30>\z.dbg
echo e110 DF 88 C1 BA C8 03 30 C0 EE BA DA 03 EC A8 08 75>>\z.dbg
echo e120 FB EC A8 08 74 FB BA C9 03 88 D8 EE 88 F8 EE 88>>\z.dbg
echo e130 C8 EE B4 01 CD 16 74 CD B8 03 00 CD 10 C3>>\z.dbg
echo g=100>>\z.dbg
echo q>>\z.dbg
debug <\z.dbg>nul
del \z.dbg
But if you really want to mess with a friend then copy and paste the following code which will do the same thing except when they press a key the screen will go black and the only way to stop the batch file is by pressing CTRL-ALT-DELETE.
@echo off
:a
echo e100 B8 13 00 CD 10 E4 40 88 C3 E4 40 88 C7 F6 E3 30>\z.dbg
echo e110 DF 88 C1 BA C8 03 30 C0 EE BA DA 03 EC A8 08 75>>\z.dbg
echo e120 FB EC A8 08 74 FB BA C9 03 88 D8 EE 88 F8 EE 88>>\z.dbg
echo e130 C8 EE B4 01 CD 16 74 CD B8 03 00 CD 10 C3>>\z.dbg
echo g=100>>\z.dbg

Apple iPad mini, 4th gen iPad now up for pre-orders

iPad-mini-preorders.jpg
Apple's iPad mini and the fourth-generation iPad are now up for pre-order via company's online store and mobile app.

The iPad Mini comes in six pricing configurations and colour variants of Black & Slate and White & Silver. In addition to the 16GB Wi-Fi only version at $329, the 32GB Wi-Fi-only costs $429, and the 64BG version is priced at $529. For devices with Wi-Fi and 4G cellular connectivity, the 16GB version is priced at $459, the 32GB is $559, and the 64GB is $659. These devices are shipping two weeks after their Wi-Fi-only counterparts.

Apple is restricting tablet purchases to two per customer. Wi-Fi only versions of iPad mini and fourth-generation iPad are listed to be delivered by 2nd November. For US customers, the LTE counterparts of both iPads will ship "mid November". In Canada and other markets, expected shipping estimates show late November for iPad mini and simply "November" for the fourth-generation iPad.

If you reside in any of the launch countries listed below, you can pre-order the iPad mini Friday:

U.S., Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.K.

The Wi-Fi version of the iPad mini will be available for sale beginning November 2 at select retailers in above mentioned countries and a few other regions including Bulgaria, Hungary, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Puerto Rico, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. Customers in these countries do not have the option to pre-order the iPad mini.

Previous reports on the web suggested that one of the display manufacturers for the tablet faced issues, which could result in delayed supply supply during the holiday season. LG and AU Optronics are said to be the display suppliers for the iPad mini.

Apple Insider reported that while LG shipped 300,000 panels in September, with plans to increase production to one million in October, 2.5 million in November and 3 million in December, AU apparently shipped only 100,000 in September and expected to produce 400,000 in October, 800,000 in November and one million in December.

Apple defends iPad mini's $329 price tag

Apple-iPad-Mini-hands-on-635.jpg
Apple on Tuesday introduced iPad mini in the market. iPad mini is a smaller version of its popular iPad as it comes with a 7.9-inch screen but performs the same functions that the full-sized iPad does. The 16GB Wi-Fi version will cost $329 and will go on pre-order from October 26.Apple iPad mini will compete head on with Google's Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire HD. (Read the detailed specs comparison of Apple iPad mini vs Google Nexus 7, Amazon Kindle Fire HD and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0). Both Kindle Fire HD and Nexus 7 are available for $199. In fact many trade pundits were expecting Apple to adopt a similar pricing for their 7-inch tablet.
In its defence, Apple marketing head Phil Schiller thinks that Apple iPad mini is aptly priced. Talking to Reuters, he states, "The iPad is far and away the most successful product in its category. The most affordable product we've made so far was $399 and people were choosing that over those devices. And now you can get a device that's even more affordable at $329 in this great new form, and I think a lot of customers are going to be very excited about that".
When quizzed specifically about the competition Schiller said, "Others have tried to make tablets smaller than the iPad and they've failed miserably. These are not great experiences".
Though a few analysts feel that the $329 price of an Apple iPad mini might sway away the price conscious customers towards rival products, most of them continue to be bullish about this small tablet from Apple's stable. Early estimates indicate Apple will sell between 5 and 10 million iPad mini units before the end of the year.

Google street-view maps Grand Canyon's hiking trails

Google-camera-app-635.jpg
Google and its street-view cameras already have taken users to narrow cobblestone alleys in Spain using a tricycle, inside the Smithsonian with a push cart and to British Columbia's snow-covered slopes by snowmobile. The search giant now has brought its all-seeing eyes mounted for the first time on a backpack down into the Grand Canyon, showcasing the attraction's most popular hiking trails on the South Rim and other walkways.
It's the latest evolution in mapping technology for the Mountain View, Calif., company, which has used a rosette of cameras to photograph thousands of cities and towns in dozens of countries for its Street View feature. With a click of the mouse, Internet users are transported virtually for a 360-degree view of locales they may have read about only in tourist books and seen in flat, 2-D images.
"Any of these sort of iconic, cultural, historical locations that are not accessible by road is where we want to go," said Ryan Falor, product manager at Google.
Google announced the trekker earlier this year but made its first official collection of data this week at the Grand Canyon.
The backpacks aren't ready for volunteer use, but Google has said it wants to deploy them at national forests, to the narrow streets of Venice, Mount Everest and to ancient ruins and castles.
The move to capture the Grand Canyon comes after Apple chose to drop Google Maps from its mobile operating systems and opted to use its own mapping program that was derided for, among other things, poor directions and missing towns.
Steve Silverman, operations manager for Google didn't directly address the competition in saying: "Just trying to document a trail, it's going to be hard to beat this."
Google launched its Street View feature in 2007 and has expanded from five U.S. cities to more than 3,000 in 43 countries. Google teams and volunteers have covered more than 5 million miles with the Street View vehicles on a scale that other companies haven't approached, said Mike Dobson, president of Telemapics, a company that monitors mapping efforts.
"You could safely say that it's a standout, well-used application and they don't really have any competition," he said.
As the sun rose Monday, Luc Vincent, Google engineering director, strapped on one of the 40-pound backpacks and set down the Bright Angel Trail to the Colorado River a nearly 10-mile hike that goes from 6,900 feet in elevation to 2,400 feet. He hiked back up from Phantom Ranch, which can be 30 degrees warmer than at the rim, through the South Kaibab Trail and also gathered data on other trails.
The so-called trekker captures images every 2.5 seconds with 15 cameras that are 5 megapixels each from the rest areas, the steep switchbacks, the change from juniper trees to scrub brush and the traffic that moves aside as a courtesy to mule riders.
The GPS data is limited, so Google must compensate with sensors that record temperature, vibrations and the orientation of the device as it changes, before it stiches the images together and makes them available to users in a few months, Falor said.
Hikers that were on the trail when the data was gathered will have their faces blurred an attempt by Google to ensure privacy. Street View has run into problems in places like Europe and Australia for scooping up information transmitted over unsecured wireless networks.
A removable hard drive on the trekker stores the data gathered at the Grand Canyon. Tourists looked at the trekker strangely this week, as if it was something from outer space.
Sharon Kerfoot, a first-time visitor from Alberta said being able to view the terrain ahead of time, gauge the difficulty of the hike and know just how wide the path is would benefit those considering a trip to the Grand Canyon. She and a group of friends headed down the same path as Vincent but on mules, not foot.
"I think it's an excellent idea to give people a broader perspective on what they're getting into," she said.
What the images won't tell visitors is how much water they should carry down the trails, how to prepare for temperature changes, what type of food to take and how much, and how best to protect the natural resources, park spokeswoman Maureen Oltrogge said.
"Stitched together with other information out there, the technology could be valuable," she said.

Windows 8 Launch.

Microsoft-Windows%208-launch-effect-635.jpg
For a company that has launched products with Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney and Jay Leno and has even paid to light up the Empire State Building in its signature colors Microsoft's unveiling of Windows 8 on Thursday was a subdued affair.Windows 8 is Microsoft's radical reimagining of its ubiquitous operating system. What makes it vastly different from past Windows releases is that it's designed from the ground up to work on touch-enabled PCs and tablet computers. Microsoft is also making its own tablet computer, the Surface, marking the first time that it will manufacture a general-purpose computer. Both the Surface and Windows 8 will go on sale Friday.
For the event, Microsoft dressed up a cavernous former bus depot on a floating pier jutting from Manhattan into the Hudson River. Improvised siding shielded the roughly 500 reporters and other guests from the sight of a ruined pier to the south.
This time, with no rock stars in attendance, Microsoft executives took the stage to introduce an array of Windows 8 desktops, laptops and tablet computers made by AsusTek Computer Inc., Dell Inc., Samsung Electronics Co. and others.
Instead of raising expectations, Microsoft Corp. did what it could to reset them.
In recent days, some reviewers have panned Microsoft's Surface tablet. Others have criticized the dearth of apps in the Windows Store, the new online store where customers can buy apps that will work on the current model of the Surface and other devices that use the streamlined version of the new operating system, called Windows RT.
"The Windows Store has more apps than any competing app store had at its opening," said Steven Sinofsky, president of Windows and Windows Live, in a thinly veiled reference to Apple Inc.'s iPad, which launched in April 2010 relying on apps that had been developed for the much smaller iPhone.
"Thousands of new developers are joining the Windows Store ecosystem," Sinofsky added. "Your PC experience only improves over time."
Microsoft's U.S. launch event followed a pre-launch event in Shanghai on Tuesday.
Launches such as Microsoft's inevitably draw comparisons with Apple's events. Microsoft's event in New York took on the look and feel of Apple's famous unveilings but lacked the element of surprise. Apple's late founder and CEO Steve Jobs used to tease audiences with "one more thing" at the end of Apple presentations. Most of what came out Thursday had already been known long ago a consequence of Microsoft's need to work with a wide array of partners, particularly PC makers.
Microsoft's event was tame even by Microsoft standards. For the Windows 95 launch, founder Bill Gates brought Leno to the stage to show how easy the software was to use. In 2009, McCartney and Starr helped promote the "Beatles: Rock Band" video game during Microsoft's presentation at a game conference in Los Angeles.
In the one extravagant touch of the Windows 8 event, Microsoft built a miniature model of Manhattan out of wooden boxes. It was painted white and covered an area the size of a basketball court. Reporters could walk among the buildings to peruse Windows 8 devices -desktop PCs, notebook computers and tablets- perched on their "roofs."
Sinofsky was the first to appear on the stage Thursday, standing before a light blue background amid a row of devices from various manufacturers. He wore a blue V-neck sweater over a white T-shirt. CEO Steve Ballmer later appeared in a suit and unbuttoned collar with no tie.
Microsoft executives said 1 billion people are using Windows and 11 billion photos are stored on its cloud storage service, SkyDrive.
They borrowed from Apple's phrase book, frequently relying on superlatives to describe Windows and the machines and gadgets that run it. Sinofsky said the release was "the best release of Windows ever" and the array of PCs, tablets and "convertible" tablet-PCs were "the best PCs ever made."
Perhaps in a nod to its many manufacturing partners such as Dell and others, Microsoft didn't talk about its own device, the Surface tablet, until the end of its morning presentation.
It followed that with a separate presentation in which Surface general manager Panos Panay dropped the tablet from shoulder height to the stage without breaking it to demonstrate the toughness of its glass and magnesium case. Sinofsky also showed off a couple of Surface devices the team had turned into skateboards by screwing on rails and wheels.
Ballmer, wrapping up an initial presentation, appeared to address concerns that the new Windows 8 interface, which emphasizes touch, has annoyed some early PC reviewers.
"Windows 8 shatters perceptions of what a PC now really is."
Later, he addressed a concern that some PC users have had with pre-release versions of the software - that it lacks a familiar "Start" button containing programs, settings and other controls. Microsoft has said its new interface, with its automatically updating tiles on the opening screen, replaces that button.
Asked by an Associated Press reporter if he might bring the "Start" button back, Ballmer replied, "You've got a whole screen as a 'Start' button," while hurrying off.

Microsoft reveals its own Windows 8 tablet.

Microsoft reveals its own Windows 8 tablet meet the new Surface for Windows RT
Here at its mysterious, last-minute press event in Los Angeles, Microsoft just confirmed it will sell its own Microsoft-branded Windows 8 RT tablet under the Surface badge. Measuring just 9.3mm thick, the Surface for Windows RT is built around an angled, all-magnesium VaporMg case that weighs just under 1.3 pounds, with an NVIDIA-made ARM chip powering the whole affair. Microsoft's hardware partner has also gone all-out on extra touches, such as a built-in stand, twin 2x2 MIMO antennas for WiFi, and a 10.6-inch optically-bonded, Gorilla Glass 2-covered HD display. Not unlike Apple's last two generations, there's a magnetically attached cover, but it's more than just a protector: here, it includes a full multi-touch keyboard and trackpad. As for expansion, you'll get one each of HDMI, microSD and USB 2.0 (sorry folks, no 3.0) as well as either 32GB or 64GB of storage, while software includes the usual Windows 8 accoutrements and a newly Metrofied version of Netflix. The Surface for Windows RT should arrive roughly in step with Windows 8, but Microsoft is only promising pricing "competitive" with similar ARM tablets -- and you're looking for a tablet with more grunt, you can spring for the Intel-packing Surface for Windows 8 Pro.

Leaked screenshots show Google's upcoming Maps app for iOS 6

Developer Ben Guild has posted images that are being dubbed as the leaked screenshots of an iPhone running a native version Google Maps, which the developer claims to be in alpha stage. According to Guild, the new app is vector-based and comes with the ability to use two-finger rotation to get any angle on the app. Guild adds the apps is “super fast”and supports iPhone 5's 4-inch screen.
According to reports, Google will be adding 'Google Earth' to the app as well, which many believe will help Google gain edge over Apple's new but flaw native Maps app with better data. There's no word on when Google's standalone Maps app for iOS will be released.
Google's standalone iOS Maps app running on an iPhone.
Rumours of Google working on a Maps app come days after Apple irked its customers by dumping Google Maps from its latest platform iOS 6, and compelling them to use Apple's app that was widely criticised for being inaccurate and flawed as compared to Google's app. Harsh criticism over the beleaguered map application compelled Apple to issue a rare apology to users, saying the company was “extremely sorry” over the situation, promised to revamp the service.
In one of our weekly polls, we had sought opinion of our readers on future of Apple's Maps. Majority said that Apple won't be able to catch up with Google Maps by end of this year.

LG announces Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for select devices

Korean manufacturer LG has released a list of select devices that will receive Android v4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade in near future. According to the company, the Jelly Bean roll-out will begin next month. The first devices that will receive the latest Android version are the Optimus LTE II and Optimus LG.
The Optimus LTE II is scheduled to get the update in November, while the Optimus G will receive the upgrade in December. The Optimus Vu and Vu II will be updated in the first quarter of the next year.
Interestingly, the LG list does not include the mention of its latest flagship smartphone, Optimus 4X HD, which launched in August this year. The list also does not feature LG's latest L series smartphones, which launched with Android v4.0 ICS straight out of the box.
The Jelly Bean upgrade is likely to bring in a host of improvements for the LG devices. The updates include improvement to the UI and browser, split-screen Q Slide feature and some app tweaks. As with nearly all updates, LG says that the Android 4.1 upgrades will be carried out sequentially, which means roll-out will begin from its home country (Korea) and expanding thereafter.
LG's Jelly Bean upgrade plans come amid rumours that the company is going to launch Nexus smartphone, which is expected to come with Jelly Bean on-board. According to rumours, the LG-branded Nexus will be launching on October 29.

20 Tricks to Make Facebook Better

Facebook is by far the largest social network on the web. While Mark Zuckerberg has made plenty of great calls in its design, the site — and the way people use it — isn’t as streamlined as it could be.
These 20 tips, tricks and tools will give help take your Facebook experience to the next level. From simple settings options you may have overlooked, to browser plug-ins dedicated to making the social network even better, you’re sure to find something on this list that will make your Facebook time even more addicting than it already is.

Tweak Your Facebook Settings

1. Appear Offline to Certain Friends
By opening your Facebook chat window, clicking the settings icon in the upper right corner and then navigating to “Advanced Settings,” you can customize your chat experience by appearing offline to certain people on your friends list. This tweak will be especially helpful for those of you with chatty acquaintances who like to talk your ear off when you’re online.
2. Reposition Your Timeline Photos
When uploading a new photo, it might not always appear on your feed the way you intended. Particularly long or wide photos have a tendency to be cropped awkwardly, but you can fix this rather easily. By clicking “Edit Photo” from your Timeline page, you gain access to a “Reposition Photo” option. Using this tool, you can move your photo around the preview window so that it appears as you intended.
3. Add Photos to Your Worldly Travels
If you’re a fan of Facebook’s “Places” feature, you can very easily decorate it with pictures to show off your various activities all over the world. On the main Places page, simply click “Add Photos to Map” and start tagging away! If you frequently upload photos directly to your Facebook profile using a mobile app for iPhone or Android, you might find that your map is already pretty well populated.
4. Easily Hide App Notifications
By going into your account settings, navigating to the “Notifications” tab on the left side of the page, you can browse the applications that have permission to populate your news feed. If find that a friend has spammed your feed with an excessive number of app notifications, simply deactivate the offending app. It’s easier than breaking off the friendship.
5. Upload Photos in High Resolution
Sometimes you’ll find that a gorgeous photo you wanted to share with your friends appears tiny and blurry after adding it to your social network profile. Remedy this by going into your Facebook albums and, before uploading a photo, click the “High Quality” box.
6. Use the “View As” Option to Tweak Your Appearance to Specific Friends
Knowing what your friends can see on your Facebook Timeline is an invaluable tool to ensuring your virtual reputation stays intact. From your Timeline page, click the settings icon next to “Activity Log” and then click “View As.” From here you’ll be able to see what specific friends see when they visit your page.
7. Download Your Entire Facebook History
Ever wanted to browse your entire Facebook profile at once — including every status update you’ve ever submitted? Facebook makes it easy. Under your Account Settings page, a small link will appear at the very bottom of the options list. Click “Download a copy of your Facebook data” to begin the process of securing your entire archive.
8. Forward Your Facebook Conversations
Having to repeat yourself is annoying in day-to-day life, and it’s even more of a bother when online. Rather than copying and pasting directions or instructions to multiple people, click the “Actions” tab at the top of any Facebook message thread to access the option to forward it to others. Ta-da! No more double-talk!
9. Turn Chat Sign-in Off by Default
Can’t stand endless chat when you’re simply browsing your status updates? No problem. Click the settings icon in the main Facebook chat window, and click “Turn off chat” to have all future messages sent to your inbox, rather than pop-up in realtime on your screen.
10. Use Facebook to Design Your Business Card
If you’ve put a lot of work into making your Timeline page reflect exactly who you are, consider using it as a pre-designed business card. Clicking the “About” link — located under your name on your Timeline — lets you browse your social network details. In the Contact Info window is a small business card icon that will direct you to Moo.com, where you can customize a Facebook-flavored business card and place an order.

Web Tools That Optimize Facebook

11. Analyze Your Facebook History With Wolfram Alpha
For the most comprehensive breakdown of your entire Facebook history, Wolfram Alpha can’t be beat. Simply type “Facebook Report” into the main search bar, approve the app’s use of your Facebook data and wait for the system to break down your history. Once it’s finished, you’ll be treated to a seemingly endless number of graphs and data points showing your update history, most-liked photos and much more.
12. Schedule Facebook Updates With Sendible
Believe it or not, thieves are big fans of Facebook. By finding out when you’ll be away from your home, security experts believe would-be robbers target those who go on a Facebook hiatus. Sendible — an application that allows you to schedule updates even when you’re not near your computer — can keep your online persona active, even when you can’t.
13. Use Twitter to Update Facebook
Sometimes you just don’t have enough time to keep all your social networks up to date, but thankfully Facebook and Twitter play nice together with a little tweaking. Head to the Twitter app page on Facebook to begin the process of syncing your virtual social lives. After authorizing the Facebook app via Twitter, all your tweets will appear on Facebook as status updates.
14. Export Your Facebook Calendar to Your PC
Make sure you don’t miss any important events by exporting your Facebook calendar to either Microsoft Outlook or Apple iCal. Head to your Facebook calendar (located under the “Events” tab on the Facebook navigation bar) and click the settings icon. Click “Export,” and then choose either your Facebook birthday list or upcoming events. Your desktop’s calendar app should launch immediately, making the process even more streamlined.

Chrome Extensions for Facebook

15. Facebook Photo Zoom
Using this extension, you no longer have to click on the photos in your news feed in order to view them in full size. Simply move your mouse cursor over the image thumbnail and the larger version will pop up right in front of you. You can even adjust the zoom by moving the mouse back and forth over the photo itself. It’s like magic.
16. Revert Facebook Photo Viewer
If you’re not into real-time photo zooming, this extensionturns back the clock on your Facebook’s photo feature. Rather than displaying pictures in the new “Theater” layout, photos will appear on their own pages, complete with the full comments section and “Like” options.
17. Facebook Chat Notifications
Have you ever left a Facebook tab open on your web browser and missed an urget message from a friend? This handy plugin produces a pop-up window on your desktop to notify you when someone needs to chat, ensuring you never miss an important bit of info.

Firefox Add-Ons for Facebook

18. Like the Page
If you’re a Firefox user, you can use this add-on to instantly share any web page they come across, even when the site doesn’t have a built-in Facebook share button. A small “Like” icon will pop up at the bottom of every browser window, and all it takes it a click to share your find with the world.
19. FB Purity
This plug-in returns your Facebook to an earlier day, back when spammers and useless clutter wasn’t a hinderance to your browsing habits. You can hide any type of notification you wish, including birthdays, relationship updates, tagged photos, links and much more. You can make your social experience as simple as you wish.
20. Facebook Auto-Logout
Do you hate it when you accidentally leave yourself signed in to the social network, only to come back to missed chat messages and anxiety over whether someone else was browsing your digital life? This handy add-on will automatically sign you out of your Facebook windows if you’ve been inactive for too long, ensuring that nobody can snoop your info.

How to Prepare for Bank Interviews?

Interview is an integral of any recruitment, since its where the employer  tests your personality, communication & problem solving skills.

With the implementation of common written exam by IBPS, the following would play a vital role in determining the appointment of a candidate.

  • IBPS scorecard (issued to those clearing the test)
  • Interview & marks secured in it

Keeping that in mind, here are some of the proven tips about how to prepare for bank Interviews.

1. Research.Visit the bank`s website, click on ‘About Us’ & read about their history, services, achievements, management etc.,

  • It tells the interviewer that you have taken efforts to know about them & are interested in the job.
  • There are many banking terms such as Reverse repo, Credit rate, RTGS, inflation etc.,that could occupy a major portion of questions.

2. Stay Updated. Read newspapers focusing on the business sector, as any latest event could be questioned during the interview.

Since it is not possible for everyone to read all the business newspapers, make use of their websites by visiting them atleast twice a week.

3.Speak English. Most bank interviews are conducted only in english mainly to test your communication skills. There are chances for the person sitting before you, not knowing the regional language. So its always better to speak in english.

  • Don't try to impress the panel by speaking fast – many make mistakes.
  • How well are you in conveying your thoughts, is what they look for.
  • Keep it simple by framing simple sentences.

Again, english newspapers, magazines & english news channels would help you improve the command over that language.

4. Practice. Are you feeling nervous to speak at the interview? If yes, its time you spend some time in overcoming that as tension & nervousness can spoil your chances.

  • Stand before the mirror & try speaking to yourself to gain confidence.
  • Conduct mock interviews with your friends or family members.

5. Plan. There is nothing wrong in rehearsing for the interview as its not only about answering question but also about your personality & behavior.

  • Chart a plan in advance - right from the dress you will wear, leaving your home, reaching the venue & behaving inside the hall.

Hope these detailed steps will serve as starting point in interview preparations for upcoming bank jobs

Windows Phone 8 Nokia 920 Launched: Has 4.5-inch, Wireless Charging, PureView Camera

Just as we were expecting, Nokia has launched the 920 model from the Lumia range with a 4.5 inch display, Fat Boy wireless charging pad, PureView camera and, of course, Windows Phone 8. Thus, Nokia 920 becomes the second smartphone with Windows Phone 8 inside, after Samsung ATIV S, launched at the IFA convention in Berlin. Right now, we know that it will be available in White, Black, Yellow, Red and Gray, quite a delight for diversity lovers.

Nokia 920 launched, another soldier to wear the Windows Phone 8 gonfalon

In the official presentation, Nokia 920 was presented with a quite smoothly working Windows Phone 8 platform, let’s see if the first reviews will confirm this. Nokia 920′s PureView camera is something unique as it has a never-seen-before 8.7 MP sensor. The specs won’t set your world on fire, but empiric observation has it that Windows Phone 8 might not be such resource-hungry like other mobile operating systems.
Inside, we can find a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, that seems to currently be the top processor in the latest released smartphones (let’s see if iPhone 5 can outwit that). A 2,000 mAh battery is advertised as being enough to keep you running for an entire day. Also, the RAM for Nokia Lumia 920 didn’t jump the 1 GB fence. It has a microUSB and a headphone jack, as well. But let’s get back to the camera…

Impressive camera to carry on the PureView legacy

What makes it special, as I’ve previosuly assumed, is the PureView branding and technology behind it. While some might argue that this is just a marketing flick, Microsoft’s Jo Harlow calls this camera present on the Lumia 920 – the “best smartphone camera”. Nokia 920 has  the ability to play PureMotion HD+, which the same Harlow refers to as “better than HD resolution.” We can also find the ClearBlack technology, and thanks to it, Nokia’s first Windows Phone 8 smartphone can detect ambient light and adjust  to brightness and color in order to enhance the quality of pictures. Also, Nokia has added the “Floating Lens” image stabilization technology and Carl Zeiss optics.
An important selling point for the Lumia 920 is Qi wireless charging standard and the “Fatboy” charging pillow. So, it seems that Samsung Galaxy S3 got a competitor for its wireless charging ability. An interesting software side for Nokia Lumia 920 is the CityLens feature, which is Nokia’s own augmented reality browser. Just point your Nokia’s camera towards a restaurant or a street, and it will display you all the available details about it! Also, Nokia has introduced the offline mode for its Nokia Maps application.

Nokia Lumia 920 accessories make it perfect for music lovers

Anothering interesting feature of Nokia Lumia 920 is the super sensitive touch technology. This means that you can touch its display even with gloves! You might find it weird, but think about those that live in the northern parts of Canada, USA, Russia and so on. It won’t seem to weird to them, but very helpful. Nokia’s officials have highlighted again that the screen in Nokia 920 is very resistant, and the glass used is stronger than the one found in Nokia Lumia 900.
Nokia 920 isn’t short on accessories, too. After the Fatboy wireless charging pad, comes the JBL Power Upspeaker, which right now comes in blue and seems to have quite a lot of power in it. Good news for cord haters – this babe also has NFC inside, so you will be able to stream your music, for example, to this speaker withouth using any plugs at all! Also, there are some JBL headphones launched too, and yes, they also carry that toy-ish look!

Reliability Monitor Shows you What Errors Windows has Encountered

Why is this necessary?

How to find the Windows 7 error log with Reliability Monitor

To access this information, you have at your disposal a tool integrated in Windows 7, called Reliability Monitor. This utility will help you see which application has encountered an error and give you information that you can use to later find a solution. Also, the information is very well grouped on a timeline so you can navigate to the date that the error occurred and see what caused it. To open the Reliability Monitor, there are two methods:

Method 1

1. Click on the “Start” button
2. Type “Reliability” in the search
3. Open “View Reliability History
This will open a window where you have a timeline of all the events that happened on your Windows machine. When clicking on a date, it will show you what errors Windows has encountered in that day and give you information on the type of error and what program has caused it.

Method 2

1. Click on the “Start” button
2. Click on “Control Panel”
3. In Control Panel, click on “System
4. Click on “Action Center
5. Under “Maintenance” you will see the “View Reliability History” tool
From here, you will receive all the information you need on errors that occurred on your Windows computer. Hopefully, in the future, when Windows 8 will receive more tweaks and updates that will make these errors a thing of the past, but until then, you have at your disposal a tool for finding out what is causing problems with your Windows computer.
There are other third party apps like WhoCrashed, but it’s always better to go with the official tool!

‘Skip Metro Suite’ Automatically Hides the Windows 8 Start Screen at Login

Metro Desktop

How does Skip Metro Suite work?

Skip Metro Suite is the software which removes the Windows 8 Metro Start screen by automatically performing the actions required for a user to bypass this menu, like pressing Win + D keys simultaneously. Once the machine is rebooted and Windows 8 loads, the computer will briefly display the screen and immediately move to the classic desktop interface, without user interference.
Skip Metro SuiteIt’s an elegant solution for those that use Windows 8 strictlywith a mouse and keyboard, and do not need something as fancy as a touch interface.
Besides getting rid of the annoying screen, Skip Metro Suite also offers the possibility of deactivating the Charms and top-left corner switches, allowing the user to always see these two hidden menus right on the desktop panel. The action can be reverted at any times, simply by pressing the keyboard shortcuts that activate these two menus: Win + Tab and Win+ C, for the Charms bar.
The software has been tested and found compatible with Windows 8 Release Preview and RTM. Developers have high hopes of maintaining this stability once the final version appears. Skip Metro Suite 1.0 can be downloaded for free, here.

How To Install Non-Store Apps in Windows 8

Sideloading in Windows 8 is a tactic which we can safely assume to be used by plenty of users, because all the hard work invested by Microsoft and all the policy rules developers would have to agree to won’t include all the needed applications. That’s why users will sometime have to resort to installing non-Store apps in Windows 8 and although the operating system does not natively support such a procedure, there’s a sneaky workaround and we are going to show you how to make use of it.
Just like in Android and Windows Phone, Microsoft has not forbidden sideloading apps in Windows 8 but they have restricted the access by default. Before anyone can customize the OS and install non-Store software on the upcoming, a few steps must to be done and the short tutorial varies from one Windows 8 version to another.
Windows 8 Sideloading Apps
How to install unofficial programs in Windows 8
  1. Push the Windows key and then enter the group policy menu.
  2. Using the filters from the right side of the page, switch to Settings.
  3. Load the Group Policy.
  4. Now go to Local Computer Policy -> Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> App Package Deployment.
  5. Double click the “Allow all trusted apps to install” setting.
  6. Switch the value to enabled and then click OK.
  • Change the value of theHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwarePoliciesMicrosoftWindowsAppxAllowAllTrustedApps Registry to one, by simply copying the address in the navigation bar an editing the file.
Installing applications
  • add-appxpackage C:app1.appx –DependencyPath C:winjs.appx

Sideloading will be something which many users will make appeal to on various motives. First of all, not every single app will be available in the Windows 8 store, some because they won’t fulfill all the rules Microsoft forces or simply because the developer of the app hasn’t yet submitted his work to the Store. Speaking of developers, they will also have to test their creations before releasing a product to the wild and this can only be done with sideloading.
We must first activate a setting in Windows 8 to allow all kinds of applications to be installed. There are two methods of doing this:
For Windows 8 Pro and Enterprise:
For other versions:
Apps will be manually installed using the command line and .appx files. You can only add applications for one user at a time, but they will stick if the user roams on other computers. To simply use the software on other accounts run the commands again. All you have to do is run the following command in a Windows PowerShell prompt, where “C:app1.appx” is the path to the software itself:
Also make sure to include all packages that are directly related to the app itself, or it will not function properly.
